About the Event

FrenchFounders and French Morning have come together to organize the first edition of Startup Tour.

This contest will give French startups the opportunity to present their project, and launch or further develop in the US market.

The Competition

7 competitions in 7 cities in front of 20 business angels and investors.
New York, Boston, Miami, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Montreal.
Five startups will participate in each city’s local competition. One startup will be chosen as the winner.

1 final competition in New York in September 2017, and which many high ranking personalities will attend.
The 7 local winners from the local competitions will compete in the finals. One startup will be chosen as the winner.

How to Participate

Startups meeting the qualifying criteria must submit an application by May 22th.

A committee of industry experts, investors, executives, and educators will review the applications and select the competitors

If selected, startups should prepare to compete at their local competition in June.

Eligibility



The startup must meet at least two of the following criteria:

  • - Be working on a new technology, product, or service, or an innovative application of an existing technology
  • - Have a proof of concept, a prototype, scientific validation of your claim, or minimum viable product (MVP)
  • - Be a team composed of two or more people working on the startup full-time
  • - Have raised in angel and/or seed capital
  • - Be working on a project that would have a significant impact on your target industry, and society or the environment in general
  • - Still be in a growth phase

In addition, the startup must meet these mandatory criteria:

  • - One of the startup's founders must be a French speaker
  • - The startup must have a presence in the city in which they are competing at the local level, or plan to establish a presence there in the near future
